I was presented the opportunity to lead The Dave & Jenny Marrs Collaboration in October 2021, after a co-worker left the company after spending four months in development. My first objective was to assess the brand’s direction & pivot the already completed develop to deliver product that aligned with Dave & Jenny’s design style.
All product was mid-development when I joined the brand’s team. Many soft & hard product was not up to the quality & design that Dave & Jenny wanted. I had several challenges entering as Design Manager over the Dave & Jenny Marrs Collab.
First Challenge: I had to form a new relationship with Dave & Jenny where they felt confident that I would deliver a brand vision & strategy that spoke to the identity of themselves & their patrons.
Second Challenge: This would be the first time I formally managed a team of designers. Furthermore I would be leading & working with soft product for the first time.
Third Challenge: I had to abruptly pick up the pieces of the brand that Dave & Jenny did not feel connected with and transform it into a brand they loved.
